I have a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and Women's Studies, as well as a Master's in English, and am currently working on my PhD in English. My GPAs were 3.0, 4.0 and 3.8, respectively.
Experience
I have been teaching college composition and literature for four years, and have been tutoring privately and at tutoring centers for seven years. I specialize in helping students improve their writing skills, focusing on critical reading and thinking. I can also help students to master literature from the middle ages through contemporary literature (my doctoral research field is Renaissance literature, but I teach contemporary literature as well). Although I stress the importance of improving writing, reading, and thinking skills through personal practice, I do also offer proof-reading and copy-editing services to those interested. I have a background in Russian, Italian, and Latin.
