I received a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science from the College of Insurance at St. John's University and have worked as an actuary with several high profile companies, including Platinum, Everest, and Reliance. I also became a parent, which drove home for me just how important individual instruction is in a student's educational development. In particular, I want to share my mathematical knowledge with students who have difficulty in this area. Math plays an important role in the development of a child's problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and is a necessary building block for many good careers. Therefore, I strive to make the material accessible to all students, regardless of prior experience with Math. My approach to teaching and tutoring relies heavily on my ability to assess the student's needs and then devise a creative, personalized approach to the material. I work with students in Elementary Math through Algebra and Trigonometry. When I'm not working, I enjoy other mind-expanding activities such as reading and traveling.
