St. John's University - Bachelors, Childhood Education , CUNY College of Staten Island - Masters, Special Education
Everyone has their own learning style, and, as your tutor, my first endeavor is to discover yours. We learn best when our teachers meet us at our level. I was inspired to become a teacher when I was in high school. I had an inspirational teacher who unlocked my potential as a math student. I gratefully attribute my decision to be a mathematics teacher to her. I earned my bachelor's degree in childhood education from Saint John's University, and my master's degree in special education at the College of Staten Island. Since then, I have taken many other courses to extend my license in middle school math. I have taught math professionally since 2009, and I have instructed pre-K students to high school-level students. I enjoy utilizing pictures and manipulatives to help young students understand math. High school math is another favorite subject of mine to tutor because it offers interesting challenges and various applications. Through my teaching experience, I have realized that it is difficult to give individualized attention to students in a large class. Whether you just want to pass your class or you're undertaking more of challenge, I love math and I can help you. In my free time, I like to crochet, knit, run, and read.
